Obituary for Maryjo Frances Welch

Maryjo Welch, 79, of Des Moines, formerly of Nevada, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Home in Indianola.

Maryjo was born June 15, 1937, in Thomas, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harry Richard and Helen Evelyn (Kline) Myers. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1955 and had worked over 50 years as an administrative assistant for the State of Iowa. Maryjo had served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the city of Clive and was a member of Valley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed antiques, traveling and Iowa history.

Maryjo is survived by her son, Merle Welch of West Des Moines; and two grandchildren: Grace and Hannah Welch. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Per her wishes, Maryjo has been cremated and no services are planned. Private inurnment of cremated remains will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Nevada.
