Orning rites were today

Word has been received here of the death of A. W. Orning of Nashville, Tenn., Sunday.

Mr. Orning was born and raised in Story County, attended school in Gilbert and is a graduate of Iowa State University. He was married to the former Erma Sowers of Randall and since their marriage lived in Nashville for the past 30 years.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Orning of Ames.

Survivors include his wife, Erma; two daughters, Mary of Nashville and Marcia of Dallas, Tex., as well as six grandchildren; two sisters, Mable Orning of Ames, Mrs. Carl Peterson of Mount Ayr; two brothers, Edwin of Ames and Arthur of Pittsburg, Pa.

Funeral services were held today in Nashville.
