Death of Garden City Man

Michael Nessa died at his home in Garden City last Thursday after a lingering illness of several months. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Garden City and interment took place in the Roland cemetery.

Mr. Nessa was a brother to Mrs. Nels Waugh of this place.

Obituary

Michael T. Nessa was born December 24, 1846, at Nerstrand, Norway. Came to America in the summer of 1879 to Story county in the spring of 1880 and was married to Ingeborg Oluffa Woe on the 4th day of November, 1880, moved to a farm 4 miles north of Roland in Hamilton county, Iowa, where he lived until December, 1891. He moved to Hardin county and lived on the farm until December, 1903, when he moved to Garden City and in October 1910 he moved to Forest City, Iowa, where is lived until May, 1918, when he moved back to Garden City and where he lived until the time of his death, leaving his wife, five children, four grand children and one brother. The children are Nels, Inger, Thormed, Margaret and Bertha, all living in and around Garden City, and his brother Hans who lives in Norway and a sister, Mrs. N. E. Waugh of Roland.

Funeral was held Tuesday at Garden City at 12 o'clock at the home at 12:30 at the church, conducted by Rev. J. J. Lee. Interment was made at the Roland cemetery.
