Infant killed in collision

A 17-month-old Colo boy was killed and five other persons were injured in a two-car collision two miles east of Nevada on U. S. 30 Friday at 10:56 p.m.

Kenneth Price, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Price, Colo, was killed when the car driven by his father was involved in collision with a pick-up truck driven by Harold A. Staker, 54, 220 Washington Ave.

Price, 24, his wife Ginger, 22, and sister, Karen, 11, were hospitalized in Story County Hospital where they are reported in "satisfactory" condition. Staker was also taken to Story County Hospital.

Evelyn Price, eight, also a sister, was taken to Mary Greeley Hospital with multiple fractures. She was reported in "fair" condition Saturday morning.

Charges are pending against Staker, according to John Stark, chief deputy of the Story County Sheriff's office.

The accident was the fifth fatal accident on the four mile stretch of highway east of Nevada so far this year, Stark said. Nine people have been killed in collisions in that area in the past two years, he added.
