GEORGE JAMES DEAD; FUNERAL WEDNESDAY
WAS BORN AND ALWAYS LIVED IN SOUTHWEST HOWARD
After having live the entire 72 years of his life on the farm on which he was born, George B. James, native son of southwest Howard township, is dead today.
Short funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 at the old family home northwest of the Sheffield school, after which the body will be taken to Grace church, Story City, where funeral will be conducted by Rev. Fuller.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove cemetery. it was planned to hold the funeral at Pleasant Grove church, but the conditions of the roads made it advisable to hodl the services in Story City instead.
Mr. James died Sunday morning at the Wm. Hill home in Gilbert, where he was being cared for during his final illness.
George B. James was born on the old James homestead northwest of the Sheffield school house and had lived there all of his life, with the exception of the short time of his invalidism, when he had been cared for in the Hill home at Gilbert.
He had been an invalid for between tow and three years but the past six weeks he had been at the Hill home.
Mr. James had been twice married but both wives had preceded him in death. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. C. E. Thomas of Keystone and Mrs. H. L. Harris of Beaman, and one son, C. E. James of Cambridge. There are also three brothers William James of Leriona, Yucatan, Mexico, Elmer James of El Paso, Texas and Carson James of Story City.
He also leaves 7 grandchildren and other relatives, besides a wide circle friends.
