Obituary from Sosebee Mortuary & Crematory, Anderson, South Carolina.

Judith Clare McBride See (Judi) passed away at AnMed Health Medical Center on July 1, 2016.

Born on January 1, 1940 in Story County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Russell Clare McBride and Louise Lanning McBride, and the wife of 51 years of Gary Eugene See, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John McBride, a sister, Jo Ann McBride Halterman, and a brother-in-law, Robert Tyrrel.

She is survived by a daughter, Valerie See and husband Ken Brookner of Lummi Island, WA; a daughter, Dawn See and husband Tony Duarte-Valdes and granddaughter Carolina Duarte-See of Katy, TX; a son, Gary Evan See and wife Charlene Zhao and grandson Evan Gary See of Anderson, SC; a sister, Janet Tyrrel of Redding, CA, a sister-in-law, Shirley McBride, of Maxwell, IA, and a brother-in-law, Robert Halterman, of Greenwood, SC, as well as by many nieces and nephews.

Judi graduated from Iowa State Teacher’s College (now the University of Northern Iowa) with an teacher’s certificate focusing on elementary education, and later graduated again from Central Wesleyan College (now Southern Wesleyan University), earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in human resources management. Judi was a tax accountant and, in addition to being an enrolled agent, was also a certified financial planner. She had a deep and lifelong love of gardening and entertaining, and was a long time member of the Anderson Garden Club. Additionally, she spent many years as an adult volunteer in Girl Scouting.

Graveside committal services will be held at the Woodland Cemetery in Maxwell, Iowa later in the year, at a time to be announced. Plans are also being made for a memorial gathering in Anderson, SC, also later in the year at a time to be announced.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. See may be made to Woodland Cemetery Association, c/o Shirley McBride, 417 Metcalf St., Maxwell, Iowa 50161.
