OBITUARY

Death of Victor L. Ray.

Victor L. Ray formerly of this city, died Sunday at the the home in Fisher, Illinois, of his mother, where he had been for several weeks. Reports of his condition had not been such as to offer encouragement for his recovery, and the news of his death occasions no surprise. He had for a considerable time been failing from Bright's disease. He was about thirty-five years of age, and had been married just ten years, his wife being formerly Miss Mabel Fifer of this city. He came here as a young man, lived here for number of years and then removed to Ackley, where he went into business on his own account and conducted the same until his failing health suggested that he sell out. He has been a man of industry and worth, and his death occasions very great regret. Mrs. Ray will leave Fisher with his body today, and his funeral will be conducted at two o'clock Wednesday from the Methodist church in this city. Rev. Matheny will have charge; but he will be assisted by the Methodist pastor from Ackley and by Rev. R. E. Shaw.
