Miss Jane Larson Dies at Story City

STORY CITY -- Miss Jane Larson, 70, died Thursday morning at 6:40 at her home in Story City. She had been in failing health for years, but two weeks ago suffered a fall which resulted in pneumonia.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Larson-Peterson funeral home in Story City with the Rev. W. D. Winder officiating. Burial will be in the Story City cemetery.

Surviving Miss Larson, who had lived in this community the past 67 years, are two sisters, Miss Carrie Larson of Story City and Mrs. Mary Johnson of Story City and three brothers, Godfrey L. of Winnebago, Minn., and N. H. of Chicago, Ill.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Larson-Peterson funeral home in Story City for Miss Jane Larson, who died at her home on Thursday, Nov. 30.

The Rev. W. D. Winter officiated at the services and two special numbers were sung by Mrs. Luther Matson, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Jacobson.

Casket bearers were Hans S. Nelson, Howard Egeland, Martin Jensen, Henry Ward, Elmer Jensen and Everett Anderson. Interment was in the Story City cemetery.

Born in Denmark

Miss Larson had been a resident of Story City for 67 years, before that living in Denmark where she was born on Jan. 12, 1880. At the age of two, she came to the United States with her parents, Jens and Marie Larson. They first settled in McCallsburg, then moved to Story City.

She had been in poor health for many years and two weeks before her death was injured in a fall from which she never fully recovered.

Surviving are two sister, Miss Carrie Larson of Story City and Mrs. Mary Johnson of Cambridge; three brothers, Godfrey of Winnebago, Minn.; W. R. of Fairmont, Minn. and N. H. of Chicago.

Three brothers and one sister and her parents preceded her in death.
