OBITUARY

HANNAH S. BUMP

Hannah S. Tanner was born near Columbus, Ohio, Feb. 18, 1939 and passed away after only a few days illness with pneumonia Dec. 8, 1917 in her 79th year.

She moved from Columbia early in life with a married sister, and lived with her until her marriage to John Bolton, after which they moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa, where the home remained until the husband enlisted in the Civil War. He died in Memphis, Tenn., from the effects of an attack of measles contracted in the service. One son and one daughter having died in infancy, and the son, Frank Bolton of Smithwick, S. D., surviving.

The second marriage occurred at Oskaloosa in 1867 when Mrs. Bolton was married to Mr. Martin V. Bump. In 1880 they moved to Smith County, Kansas, but remained there only one year, returning to Iowa and taking up their residence in Lincoln township, Story county. There the home was kept until 1895 when the residence was brought to Nevada where is has since been.

To the second marriage there were four sons born and one daughter, Charley, Milton, Edna, Fred M., and Albert G., Charley died in infancy; Milton on Sept. 14, 1903; Edna on Feb. 15, 1898. Fred M. Bump of Zearing and Albert C. Bump of Fairmont, Minn., survive their mother. The three living sons were able to be present at the funeral services which were held from the residence, Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. R. M. Shipman. The burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
