Anna Mae Tjelta was born on March 24, 1939 to Jacob and Minnie (Johnson) Adams in Whitesburg, Kentucky. She married Myrle Tjelta on July 4, 1992. Anna worked as a contract analyst for the State of Illinois.

Anna and Myrle moved in to Ames in October of 2000. Anna enjoyed camping, reading, and loved animals.

Anna passed away at 77 years of age on June 26, 2016 at Bethany Manor in Story City, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Myrle Tjelta of Ames; five children, Vicki Hunckler of Aurora, Illinois, Marvin (Lisa) McGrath of Wagoner, Oklahoma, James (Mary Beth) McGrath of La Salle, Illinois, Jeffery McGrath of Springfield, Illinois and Janet Patton of Edinburg, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and three sisters, Brenda Adams of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jackie Combs of Hazzard, Kentucky and Geraldine Fish of Naples, Florida.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
