Donald G. Klonglan
September 2, 1929 - June 23, 2016

Donald G. Klonglan was born near Sheldahl to Lawnie D. and Evelyn (Carlson) Klonglan. After high school, Donald served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Firestone with over 33 years of service. Donald was a lifelong resident of the Slater area and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He enjoyed going to auctions, and participating in outdoor activities. He cherished his family and enjoyed attending their activities.

Donald passed away June 23, 2016 at Valley View Village in Des Moines at the age of 86.

Donald is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Klonglan of Slater; a son, Bob Klonglan and his wife, Judy, of West Des Moines; two grandchildren, Joel and Jennifer; a brother, Paul (Kathy) Klonglan of Des Moines; and three sisters, Dorothy Longnecker of Ankeny, Mary Jane (Don) Willocks of Jefferson City, Tennessee and Sharon (Chuck) Bowers of Huxley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial has been established in his name.
