Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Glen Richard Egland was born July 22, 1925 to Casper and Anna (Olson) Egland on the family farm in rural Jewell, Iowa. Glen graduated from Milford High School. He married June Elaine Michaelson on April 17, 1946. She died September 22, 2002. Glen farmed north of Roland for many years and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, where he served on many boards. Glen was active in the Story County 4-H, the Story County Pork Producers, and the Roland Cemetery Association. He volunteered as a liaison for Bethany Manor and the residents for many years.

Glen passed away at 90 years of age on June 6, 2016 at Bethany Manor in Story City.

Glen is survived by his family: daughter, Kathy (Charlie) Bailey of Ames and their children, Kristine (Jason) Townsend and family Olivia, Ava, Grace and William, and Jolyn (Shawn) Daniels and family Carter and Hudson; daughter, Julie (Rick) Wagner of Kamrar, their children, Melinda (Richard) DeWitt and family Cameron and Rachel, Jason Caruth, and Nicklous Caruth; son, Arlin Egland of Ames and his children, Stacy Egland, and Andrew (Krystal) Egland and family Alex, Elizabeth and Evelyn; son, Randy Egland of Ames; son David’s children, Joshua (Rebecca) Egland and family Elizabeth, Audrey, Hannah, Sydney and Gabrielle, Christopher (Megan) Egland and family Odin and Angilina, and Brian Egland; two brothers, Vernon (Marilyn) Egland of Bettendorf and Frank (Barb) Egland of Battle Creek, Mich.; his sister-in-law, Joan Egland of Ames; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and June's sisters, Dorothy Woodbury, Mildred Murray and Virginia Marshall.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June; his son, David Egland; his infant daughter, Julie Eileen Egland; a grandson, Steven Egland and his brother, Stanley Egland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salem Lutheran Church, Bethany Life Communities, or Story County 4-H.
