Jerry Lee Matheason was born May 1, 1940 to Albert and Gladys (Clayberg) Matheason in Story City, Iowa. He worked for many years as an electrician for Conversion Contractors. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Story City and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and his family. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.

Jerry passed away June 5, 2016 at Bethany Manor in Story City at the age of 76.

Jerry is survived by his children, Lisa Lowe, Janet (Mark) Templeton and Mike (Cari) Matheason, all of Story City; his significant other, Bert Cable of Story City; Bert’s son, Jerry (Candie) Cable of Ames; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his brother, Charles (Ruby) Matheason of Story City; and his sister-in-law, Georgette Matheason of Story City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Richard Lowe; an infant sister, Dorothy, and sister, Florence Furman; and his brothers, Arthur Matheason, Kenneth Matheason and Eugene Matheason.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chaplain Fund at Bethany Manor or Story City American Legion.
