Winona A. Decker, 94, of Ames, passed away June 3, 2016. No services are planned at this time.
Winona Adelle Mylenbusch Decker was born September 25, 1921 to Daniel Myron and Daisy Darlene (Moore) Starner in Boone, Iowa. She graduated at Boone High School. Winona and Donald J. Mylenbusch were married in Des Moines by Reverend Boone.
She enjoyed painting, playing piano and the organ for roller skating, and writing songs. She and Charles ministered all over Missouri, Kansas, and Iowa as an evangelistic team. Winona loved her dogs and all pets.
Winona is survived by two sons, Thomas (Deborah) Mylenbusch of Ames and Gary Mylenbusch of Henderson, Nev.; seven grandchildren, Gretchen (Dave Jameson), Sara Lee (Keith Knittle), Mike (Melodie) Mylenbusch, Matt (Jennifer) Mylenbusch and Daniel Mylenbusch; AJ (Keshia Skahill), Sara (Andrew Perkins), and eight great-grandchildren. On the Decker side, Winona is survived by three step-children, Susan (Jerry Dillard), Sandy (John King), and Steve (Mary Decker).
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Mylenbusch, her second husband, Charles Russell Decker; her son, James Mylenbusch; and her grandson, Jay Thomas Mylenbusch.
