Grace Eldora Johnson was born March 4, 1931 to Edgar O. and Gerda J. (Sletvold) Urness in Sioux Falls, S.D. Grace married Warren Johnson June 30, 1953. Grace began playing organ for church services in ninth grade and enjoyed serving in this way until five years ago. Grace loved to work with youth and taught organ at Augustana Academy in Canton, S.D. She was a member of Palestine Lutheran Church, Women's Bible Study, Women's Aglow, Cursillo, and Iowans for Israel. Grace loved to travel - going to Israel six times.

Grace passed away at 85 years of age on May 21, 2016 at Bethany Manor in Story City.

Grace is survived by her husband, Warren Johnson of Cambridge; her children, Wayne (Marie) Johnson of Des Moines, Roy (Connie) Johnson of Plymouth, Minn., Nathan (Jill) Johnson of Clive and Kirsten (Dan) Van Soelen of Ames; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, David Urness and Luther Urness.
