OBITUARY

Anna Dorothy Nelson was born June 29, 1881 at McCallsburg. She was united in marriage to Luke O'Donnell, Feb. 28, 1905, and they moved onto the farm north east of Colo which has been their home ever since. Six children were born to them. Mrs. O'Donnell was a loyal, loving wife and mother and a good neighbor and friend. She was taken with the Spanish influenza about two weeks ago. Everything that loving hearts and skilled hands could so, was done but she passed away early Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, 1919, aged 37 year, 6 months and 24 days. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband. four daughters, Alice, Irene, Pauline and Anna and one son, Francis (an infant son passed away four days before the mother), father, Mr. Ole Nelson of Buffalo Center, five sisters, Mrs. Anderson of Washington, Mrs. L. J. Larson of Montana, Miss Anna Nelson (a red cross nurse) of Ft. Des Mines, Miss Mary Nelson of Marshalltown, Miss Carrie Nelson (who lives with the father at Buffalo Center, two brothers, Jens of Buffalo Center and Nels with the American E. F. in France, besides other relatives and many friends. On account of the state law prohibiting public funerals, brief services were held at the grave and the beloved form was tenderly laid to rest in St. James cemetery Friday at 10 a. m. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.
