Obituary of Mrs. Sims.
Ida M. Sims, wife of J. D. Sims was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, January 17, 1871 and died at her home just east of Ames, September 20, 1906, aged 35 years, 8 months and 3 days. She moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Pahl to Boone county where at the age of two. She continued to reside there until February 22, 1892 when she was married to J. D. Sims at the Lone Tree school house. Shortly after that time she was converted at a meeting being held at the same school house. Since that time she continued to live a consistent Christian life, always ready and glad to lend her influence to the cause of the Lord.
Her death, although it came after almost nine weeks of the most intense suffering, was met without a murmur. She died as she had lived, in the faith. She leaves a husband, six children, four brothers, four sisters and a host of friends to mourn her loss. The funeral was conducted at the M. E. church September 23, by Rev. A. M. Shea and the remains were laid to rest in the Ames cemetery.
