Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Eggland were held Tuesday, April 14, at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Everett Nelson officiating. Mrs. Lester Molde sang “Jesus, Lover of My Soul” and “Under His Wings”.
Interment was in the Roland cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Anderson, Barney Burby, Clarence Hovde, Howard Jacobson, Carroll Larson and Casper Thompson.
Obituary
Mrs. Anna Sheldahl Eggland was born near Roland on October 29, 1877, and passed away at the Story County Hospital in Nevada on April 11, 1959, at the age of 81 years. She was the daughter of Eric and Betsy Sheldahl, pioneer residents of Roland.
She was baptized and confirmed in Salem Lutheran Church and remained a life-long member of that church. She was a charter member of the Salem Ladies Aid, and was a very active member.
She was united in marriage on May 31, 1900, to Osmund I. Eggland, and to this union were born four sons and one daughter.
Mrs. Eggland was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on March 18, 1937; one daughter, Floy, who passed away on January 10, 1937; one grandchild preceded her in death, as did 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by four sons, Irvin, Ernest, Eric, and Donald, all of the Roland community; nine grandchildren and three great grandchild; two brothers, Oscar of the Story City Sunset Home and Louis of Oakland, Calif; one sister, Emma (Mrs. G. H. Krohn) of Des Moines; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
