Carleton Max “Carly” Bartleson, 79, of Cambridge, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at the Madrid Home in Madrid.

Carly was born February 7, 1937, in Forest City, Iowa to Magnus and Dorothy (Hanna) Bartleson. He was united in marriage to Patricia “Pat” Hauge on April 11, 1958, in Forest City. Carly served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cambridge and the Operator/Engineer Local #234. He had worked for Northwest Steel Erection, the Rasmussen Group and retired as superintendent of Hallett Materials. Carly enjoyed visiting with people, old tractors, tinkering and woodworking.

Carly is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pat of Cambridge; his sons: Kevin (Dorothy) Bartleson of Cambridge; Kendall (Cindy) Bartleson of Nevada; Kris (Suzette) Bartleson of Cambridge and Kelly (Linda) Bartleson of Nevada; his daughter, Kimberly Rardin of Cambridge; his brother, Gisle “Doc” (JoAnn) Bartleson of Forest City; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will miss him dearly.

Carly was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jameson O’Connor; a brother, Gerry Bartleson; and one sister Marjorie Hjelmaas.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cambridge with Pastor Marcia Kisner officiating. Cremation will follow services and private burial of cremated remains will be in the Cambridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Carly Bartleson Memorial Fund.
