Sandra Rolling, 61, of Ames, passed away December 6, 2015 at Israel Family Hospice House. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 9, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 10, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Sandra Jo Ann Rolling was born June 1, 1954 to James and Lucy (Erickson) Hoffman in Ames, Iowa, where she lived and worked her entire life. Sandy was confirmed at Calvary United Methodist Church in Ames and graduated from Ames High School in 1972. It was there she met the love of her life, Mike Rolling. They were married early in life as he was 18 and she was 20, but stayed together and experienced a truly wonderful and blessed life together. They were married on August 1, 1974 and never looked back. Sandy's career started at ISU Printing and Publications as a press operator and quickly made friends of her colleagues. She loved her job and co workers and her outstanding job performance reflected that.

Besides the love she had for her family, she shared what was left for her animals. Golden Retrievers got most of her attention but there was lots of room for all others. Her spare time was spent showing Goldens in confirmation, teaching classes, and breeding the highest quality golden litters she could. She set the bar quite high and always strived to attain it, for herself and the buyers of her dogs, who most have remained close friends to this day. She traveled the county with her dogs and supporting others and her name is well known in the Golden Retriever community. Sandy was member of the Cyclone Country Kennel Club of Ames, the Golden Retriever Club of America and the Ames Unit #37 American Legion Auxiliary.

She always supported her husband, Mike, in whatever adventure he was drawn to and there were many. But he reciprocated without hesitation to her every want and need as well. She will truly be missed by all who knew, respected and loved her.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Michael Rolling; her mother, Lucy Hoffman of Ames; her brother, Bob (Cindy) Hoffman; her sister, Jeanine Kyle; two sisters-in-law, Monicia Soder and Mellissa (Yanie) Rolling; one brother-in-law, Mitch (Audrey) Rolling; three aunts, JoAnn DeVolder, Harriet Sheldahl and Mary Erickson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; and her brother, Jim Hoffman, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Israel Family Hospice House. Adams Funeral Home in Ames is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences and photos may be shared at www.adamssoderstrum.com

May Jesus guide her and reunite her with the people in her life on earth and with others she may have not yet met.
