Zearing.

....S. W. Dakins, who has been a sufferer from disease for the past two years, died last Friday P. M. at his home near Zearing. The funeral services were held at the Evangelical church in Zearing, Sunday at 11 A. M., and were conducted by Rev. Nichol of Zearing and the Rev. Yarger of Story City. The funeral was one of the largest ever held at Zearing. Mr. Dakins came to Story county in June 1869 and commenced to improve his farm. He leaves a wife and two young children. He lived to see a great improvement in this section of the county which in 1869 was thinly settled.... EBENEZER.
