J. D. Allen, son of Robt. Allen of Ames, formerly of Colo, was killed early last week by a collision at the crossing of the Northwestern and Rock Island roads in east Des Moines. The young man was fireman. A coroners inquest fixes the blame on the Rock Island road, it failing to bring train to a full stop before reaching the crossing. The family of Mr. Allen have the sympathy of the entire community in their sudden bereavement.
