From Nevada Representative January 23, 1889

Mrs. M. J. Hartman was summoned recently to Ocheltree, Johnson county, Kansas, by the sickness and death of her aged father, Mr. Kuhns. She left here the 10th of January and returned Saturday the 19th inst. Her father's death which occurred a few hours after she reached his bed side, can as a double bereavement, her mother having died the 25th of November last. Mrs. Hartman was accompanied home by her sister, Mrs. Camody, and her three brothers, Joseph, Elmer and George Kuhns. These relatives went on to their homes in Davis county, Illinois Monday. Miss Nettie Hartman accompanying them for a somewhat extended visit.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. M. J. Hartman" was Mary Jane (Kuhns) Hartman, widow of Daniel Hartman. "Mrs. Camody" is May (Kuhns) Carmody, sister of Mary Jane and wife of Thomas Carmody. "Miss Nettie Hartman" was Mary Jane (Kuhns) Hartman's daughter.
