From Nevada Representative February 2, 1887

DIED--At the home of daughter, Mrs. M. Coggshall, in this City Monday evening, Jan. 31st, of typhoid fever and heart disease, Mrs. Catherine Severns, aged 71 years. The deceased was born near Piqua, Ohio, and lived the most of her married life in Illinois. Her husband died in 1873, while temporarily in Ohio, after which time and until September 1885, her home was for the most part with her daughter, Mrs. Witt, at Belvidere, Illinois. Since then she has made her home with Mrs. Coggshall in Nevada. She left three sons and three daughters, the latter of whom, Mesdames Witt, Coggshall and Drake, are or have been residents of Nevada. Mrs. Severns was a woman whose true worth endeared her to relatives and acquaintances and whose gentle, pleasant ways made friends of all who met her. Her funeral will be conducted from her daughter's rooms to-morrow at two o'clock.

In the same issue of the paper:

--Fred Coggshall and wife are up from State Center, called here by the death of the former's grand mother, Mrs. Severns. Fred is now foreman of the Enterprise office.
