DIED--March 1st, at the poor farm, Mrs. Jane Thompson, aged 84 years. For a number of years she was a county charge, the cause being age and the desertion of relatives. About one year ago she fell and fractured one of her limbs which rendered her in a great measure helpless. The kindness and Christian sympathy shown her speak highly for those in charge. The funeral, for though small, yest was quite respectable, being made up of some of our best citizens. In nothing does our county show her excellence more than in her regard for the poor. J. FEGTLY.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to Allen's History of Story County, Iowa, Mrs. Jane Thompson was buried in Knoll Cemetery also known as the Poor Farm Cemetery.
