....We regret to hear of the death of the 2d and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Abe McCord. Their loss is truly a great one, and their many friends deeply sympathize with them in their sad bereavement....

--A little child of Mr. and Mrs. Abe McCord of Collins township, died a week ago Friday and was buried the following day in the Iowa Center cemetery.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Eathel L. McCord was the daughter of Abram Smith McCord and Sarah Elizabeth Bowman. According to Story County death records, she was born in 1886 and died on 27 August 1886. As referenced in the article, their first child, Maude A. McCord, died on 1 January 1885.
