Captain Drake S. Bosworth, an old and very highly esteemed resident of Ames, died at his home Monday of last week. He had been slightly ill for nearly a week, but his death was sudden and entirely unexpected. Captain Bosworth was born and reared in Jefferson county, New York and was a private in Co. I 10th New York Heavy artillery and First Lieutenant of Co. L 12th U. S. Colored artillery. He came west shortly after the war and in 1880 located in Ames.
