Died.

Died, at the home D. J. Bunce in this city, Saturday afternoon, May 9, 1885, Mrs. Miranda Griffith in the 79th year of her life.

The deceased was born and raised in Steuben county, New York. Her maiden name was Miller. She was married at the age of sixteen to Clemence Griffith. They came to Illinois in 1855, and in 1859 to Jackson county, Iowa. Her husband died there six years ago at the age of 84, and in June last she came to Nevada to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. D. J. Bunce. Mrs. Griffith was a woman of strong religious faith an was for fifty years an earnest member of the Methodist Church. She had been in the enjoyment of excellent health, and died of fatty degeneration of the heart after a slight illness of only four days and while in the very act of carrying on conversation, passing away without a struggle. There were brief services at the house Sunday, after which the remains were taken to Cambridge and thence in charge of her son, George Griffith to Preston, Jackson county, where the funeral was conducted Monday and where she was laid to rest beside her husband.
