From Nevada Representative October 10, 1883

Cambridge.

....There were three deaths in this vicinity last week, Dick Macey's child, Mr. Ferguson's and Ole G. Vigen. The latter was a section hand on the R. R. Saturday morning it will be remembered, was very dark and foggy. The section men were at work two miles west of town. They did not see nor hear the approaching freight train until it was nearly upon them. The other men jumped in time, but Vigen delayed too long and the train struck him. One arm and one leg were broken and several ribs fractured. He also received other injuries. He was taken to the house of James Russell where he died in the afternoon of Saturday....
