Lars M. Torson*, the man near Roland who was pierced through the stomach with a pitch-fork, continues to improve; and Dr. Stitzell considers his prospects for recovery decidedly favorable. His mother-in-law, Mrs. Jacobson had form some weeks been very low with consumption; the excitement resulting from Mr. Torson's* injury hastened her decline, and she died two or three days later.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: This should be Nels M. Thorson. Nels M. Thorson was married to Jennie (Jacobson) Thorson and was, therefore, the son-in-law of Ellen Christina Jacobson.
