From Nevada Representative November 1, 1905
Mrs. Bertha Christiansen died Tuesday morning at the home of her brother, E. O. Edwinson, in the northwest portion of the city, after a protracted illness; and her funeral will be conducted this afternoon by Rev. Simon of the Lutheran church. She was a daughter of the late Ole Edwinson and was known as one of the "Edwinson twins." Her first husband was killed a few years ago by lightning while fishing over on Green's lake; and her twin sister's husband was killed not long after by a steam shovel on the Short Line near Cambridge. Their father had previously been killed by a family mare; and by these triple misfortunes the sisters were for some time thrown upon their own resources. Early in the present year the deceased was married to Chas. Christiansen, who lived in the Dane hall; but they soon separated and he went away. For the past few months she had made her home with her brother, being all of the time in failing health; and she died as regretful as any woman could be of such faults as she.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Bertha Edwinson married three times. She married (1) Gilbert C. Hanson on 11 November 1897 in Nevada, Story County, Iowa, (2) George Royal Crain on 23 May 1901 in Nevada, Story County, Iowa and (3) Charles Christianson/Christiansen on 2 January 1905 in Nevada, Story County, Iowa.
