Mrs. A. H. Fay received word today of the death this morning at Marion of her father, Mr. George W. Slater. The latter had been ill for some time, and Mrs. Fay returned but a few weeks ago from a visit of considerable length with him. Mr. Fay went down to Marion on the train this afternoon.
