Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

JoAnn C. Peterson was born November 7, 1922 to Clarence and Sadie (Underwood) Cole in Ames, Iowa. She married David T. Peterson in 1945, and was predeceased by him in 1998. JoAnn enjoyed spending much of her time at the family cabin on Leech Lake in Walker, MN. She also enjoyed being active in the Questers Club, The Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Ames Historical Society and the National Wildlife Federation.

JoAnn passed away at 92 years of age on July 3, 2015 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

JoAnn is survived by one son, Richard D. (Pamela) Peterson, of Ankeny; five grandchildren, Amy (Lee) Bowers, of Dallas, TX, Michael (Savannah) Dolezal, of White Bear Lake, MN, Andrew (Angie) Peterson, of Monticello, Lily Peterson, of Ames and Daniel C. Peterson, of Buffalo, NY; five great-grandchildren, Aiden and Alexandra Bowers and Ashli, Kenzie and Ben Peterson; and one very special friend, Georgia Peterson.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David T. Peterson; her daughter, Christine Peterson Dolezal; her son-in-law, Thomas M. Dolezal; her grandson, Benjamin J. Peterson; and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Bowers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the National Wildlife Federation or Ames Historical Society.
