MRS. GINTER DIED; BURIED HERE TODAY

HAD LIVED IN OR NEAR NEVADA FOR WELL OVER HALF A CENTURY

Mrs. Corilla Drake-Ginter, age nearly 91 years, died at the County Home near this city Saturday afternoon and interment was in the Nevada cemetery this afternoon, after brief funeral services conducted by Rev. J. George Walz of Central Presbyterian church.

Mrs. Ginter, a native of the state of Ohio, was born Corilla Sullivan*, March 24, 1833. Mr. and Mrs. Drake cem out to Nevada over a half century ago and this had been her home the most of the time since. Mr. Drake passed away many years ago, after which she was the second time married, this time to a Mr. Ginter, who has since died.

A son Frank Drake, died at his home in Nevada a few years ago and there is a daughter, Mrs. Harriet C. Witt*, now living in New Mexico.

Mrs. Ginter lived for many years with her sister, Mrs. J. A. King. Following the death of Mrs. King, he mind became feeble and she was taken to the county home for care.

She was a woman of very bright mind in her younger days and was active in church and social affairs in the city. She had long been a member of Central Presbyterian church and it was action of the members of that organization that caused the body to be brought back to Nevada and interred on a lot by the side of a sister, Mrs. Ed Banks, who passed away many years ago.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: She was born Corilla Ann Severns, daughter of John Severns and Catherine Maddox/Mattox. Harriet "Hattie" Cook Witt was a niece, not a daughter. She was the daughter of Corilla's sister, Cassandra (Severns) Witt.
