Joyce Irene (Dopp) Server
May 22, 1932 - May 27, 2015

Joyce Irene Server, 83, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2015, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Stevens Memorial Chapel (607 28th Street, Ames, IA). The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, interment in the Ames Municipal Cemetery will follow the service.

Joyce was born May 22, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Herman and Irene (Ryder) Dopp. She married Harold "Beanie" Server on October 14, 1951, in Galesville, WI. They moved to Ames shortly after where Joyce worked at the Iowa Dept of Transportation helping to put Harold through college at ISU. Joyce mastered one of the hardest jobs on the planet; raising four boys. She loved taking care of her family and going "up home" to the dairy farm in Wisconsin for summer vacations or to visit her sister's family in Michigan.

Later in life she enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and spending time with her siblings whenever she could. Joyce had an eye for decorating her home with rustic antiques, flo-blue china, and quaint nic-nacs. She was the ultimate do-it-yourselfer and stayed busy taking care of her home and flower garden even into her later years. Joyce always had a soft spot for all the birds and critters in her backyard. She fed peanuts by hand to the squirrels on her deck and whistled for blue jays that would fly down from the trees to see what she had for them. She will be missed by all.

Joyce is survived by her children: Jeffrey (Dawn) Server, John (Karen) Server, and Bradley (Roxie) Server. Grandchildren: Amy, Bryan, Aaron, Molly, Katie, Robert, Timothy, and Callie. Great-grandchildren: Alex & Alena. Siblings: Herman, Richard and John.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband (Harold), son (Eric), sister (Caroll), and parents (Herman & Irene).
