David “Ken” Clark, 65, of Collins, Iowa, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines.
Ken was born May 30, 1949 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Glen and Vada (Hull) Clark. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1968. Ken served in the Army with 101st Airborne in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Cynthia Potter on November 28, 1992 in Colo, Iowa. He had owned the Colo Bar, managed the Camelot Theatre, and had worked for Burkes, and Means Towel for many years. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion Post #48 of Nevada. Ken enjoyed cars and motorcycles.
Ken is survived by his wife, Cindy, of Collins: four sons: Chris (Sandy) Clark of Nevada, Kyle (Rendee) Clark of Ames, Scott Potter of Marshalltown, Darrin Potter of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren: Emily, Keegan, Trent, Kaylee, Karlie, Carson, Kyler; two brothers: Grant Clark of Davenport, Ricki (Anna) Clark of Collins; and three sisters: Glenda Johnson of Corydon, Carmon Boten of Collins, and Mylinda “Minnie” (Chris) Donald of Altoona.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, March 2nd, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Visitation will be 3-5 PM Sunday, March 1st, at the Bacon Funeral Home.
Interment, with military honors, will be in Woodland Cemetery at Iowa Center, Iowa.
