Barbara Jean Woods was born March 29, 1936 to Elmer and Olga (Lee) Erickson in Ames, Iowa. Barbara graduated from Huxley High School in 1954 and then from the Iowa Lutheran School of Nursing in 1957. She lived in Walker, Minnesota before moving back to Huxley in 2000. Barbara was active in the Lutheran church and enjoyed oil painting, sewing and cooking.

Barbara passed away at 78 years of age on March 8, 2015 at the Madrid Home for the Aging in Madrid, Iowa.

Barbara is survived by four daughters, Susan (Don) Jeffries, of Oak Park, California, Sheryl (Rick) Sarff, of Savage, Minnesota, Laura Woods, of Bellingham, Washington and Linda Woods, also of Bellingham; and three grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel and Emily.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Erickson; and her sister, Virginia Anderson.
