From Nevada Representative July 31, 1901

Died, at the home of her niece, Mrs. J. B. Holcomb of Zearing, July 24, 1901, Mrs. Hannah Stillman Tooker, aged 83 years, 8 months and 16 days. The deceased was born in Rhode Island in 1817. When quite young she moved with her parents to Independence, Alleghany county, N. Y. In 1838 she was marred to David A. Tooker, they in 1871 moving to Iowa and Story county where they have since resided. The union was blessed with 5 children, 3 having preceded her to the heavenly land. An aged husband and two sons, Deloss of California and Rowland B. of Nevada, Iowa, with 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren remain to mourn their loss. She gave her heart to Christ at about the age of 21 years and has since lived a Christian life. The last year of her life was one of weakness and suffering from paralysis, yet she bore her affliction with the meekness, patience and cheerfulness becoming a Christian. She was tenderly ---- and cared for by her granddaughter, Miss Effie Tooker during her affliction of almost a year, and lately she had seemed so much better that with her husband she left the home of the son, R. B. where they had been making their home, and went for visit to her niece at Zearing. They had been there a week when she was suddenly taken sick, last week Monday, he death following on Wednesday. The funeral was held Friday at the Methodist church in Nevada and was conducted by Rev. Dudley. She was buried in the Nevada cemetery. Her husband and son join in expressing appreciation for kindness shown at the time of their bereavement.
