Roy Oliver Young
April 15, 1997 to April 9, 1997

Roy Oliver Young, 69, of Nevada died of complications of cancer and diabetes on Wednesday, April 9, at Mary Greeley Medical Center.

He was born to Leroy and Wilma F. (Fulkerson) Young on April 15, 1927 in Lake City.

On Dec, 2, 1957, he married Donna J. McIntire in Olathe, Kan. He worked as a welder for Universal Harvester for 20 years, retiring in 1993. He had served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. His hobbies included fishing and reading.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Nevada, three sons, Evan and Mike, both of Nevada, and Justin, of Blue Springs, Mo.; three daughters, Robin Mitchell, of Nevada, Terri Klein, of Colo, and Sandy Conrad, of Roland; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Pat Myhre, of Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two grand-daughters.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 14, at Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, with Pastor Brad Braley officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Heartland Senior Services.
