From Stevens Memorial Chapel obituary, Ames, Story County, Iowa:

Eunice Corrine Shilling: a loving mother, compassionate sister and a wonderful friend, passed away December 30, 2014, at the young age of 68.

Eunice was born in Forest City, IA., March 30th, 1946, to Glen and Dorothy (Sterrenberg) Smith. Graduating from Thompson High School in 1968, Eunice was always surrounded by plenty of family and friends. Her surviving family members include sisters: Glenice Nellis, Janice Kellogg, Marlyce Mueller, Susan Smith, Lisa Miller, and Brother Danny Smith.

Residing at The Rose in Ames, IA, the joy of her life was sharing her love as a Mother for Barry Ruter, Monica Marker, Jimmy Llewellen, Grandmother to Josh, Andy, and Niki Marker and as an incredibly proud Great-Grandmother to Ayriona and Tae'Shawn.

Along with adoring her many nieces, nephews, and cousins, Eunice cherished every moment spent with her friends. Every day was a blessing when Eunice was able to share her thoughts and experiences with the people she loved so much. In her final years, Eunice was very thankful for all of the support shown to her by family, caretakers, and Products Inc. of Des Moines, where she was employed the last years of her professional career with dignity and respect.

In this time of mourning, we invite all of you who were touched by Eunice to join us for a casual, informal celebration, Saturday, January 10 at Stevens Memorial Chapel, 607 28th St. Ames, IA., between 1:00-3:00 pm, as we reflect upon a remarkable life.
