John Crippen, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Crippen, of this city, died at the state hospital at Clarinda yesterday. The family had not been aware that he ws ill other than his mental derangement and the telegram announcing his death was a great surprise to them. He will be buried in the cemetery at that place. The deceased was forty-one years of age, his birthday being on October 28. He had been in the hospital for a number of years. Besides his parents he leaves two sisters, Mrs. R. L. Child, of Ames, and Mrs. Elmer Smay, of this city. The family receives the sympathy of friends.
