Virgil McKinney Passes at Nevada

Virgil McKinney, 71, of Colo, brother of Vernon McKinney of State Center, passed away August 3 at the Story County Hospital in Nevada following a two weeks illness. Mr. McKinney had farmed near Colo for the past 40 years.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Methodist Church in Colo and burial was in the Colo cemetery with the Colo post of the American Legion holding graveside rites.

Mr. McKinney was born Dec. 8, 1893 in Houston, Mo. He was married to Rozetta Hartman in Missouri on June 1, 1918. They moved to the Marshalltown area before going to Colo 40 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, one son, three daughters, 15 grandchildren; three brothers, Victor of Colo, Vernon of State Center and Roscoe of Zearing and three sisters, Mrs. Eunice Tucker of Clemons; Mrs. Arthur Nagle of Parsons, Kans., and Gladys McKinney of Cedar Falls.
