Rites Tuesday for Mrs. Edwards

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma McCalls Edwards, 74, 215 Lynn Ave., who died Friday, will be ehld here Tuesday.

Mrs. Edwards died about 4:30 a.m. Friday at Mary Greeley Hospital where she had been a patient since Feb. 3.

Born at Washington, she graduated from Wesley Memorial Hospital Training School in 1912 and served in the Public Health Service. During World War I, she served in the Nurses Corps in a base hospital at Camiers, France.

She and David Edwards were married in 1924 and she came to Ames. After his death in 1948, she operated Edwards Coal Co. until 1956.

She was a member of Collegiate Presbyterian Church, the Ames Woman's Club, the Nonpariel Club, the Amerian Legion and was past president of Chapter HN of PEO.

Survivors are a brother, Dr. J. Harvey McCall of Allerton and a nephew, David Puffett, Des Moines.

Funeral services will be ehld at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. John G. Davies, pasto or the Collegiate Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established. Gifts may be made to the Heart Fund.
