William Brown an old resident of Story county died at Maxwell Sunday, July 24, of cancer of the stomach, aged sixty years.
Mr. Brown was a native of Ohio, came with his parents when but a child, first to Wapello county and then to Iowa Center, Story county and fifteen years ago removed his home to Maxwell. He married in 1871 Miss Nancy Hoffman, who survives him. Their children are Jessie Brown, of Colo; Fred and Harry, Mrs. Alice Cummings, Mrs. Mabel Viers, of Maxwell; Harvey Brown, of Dunbar; George Brown of Zearing, and Mrs. Myrtle Edwards, of Newton. He leaves also a brther, Peter Brown, of Maxwell, and two sisters, Mrs. Jane Shoop, of Maxwell, and Mrs. Martha Jennings of California.
