David “Pappa” Erickson, 73, of Cambridge, passed away Monday, August 4, at his home.

David was born September 14, 1940, to Harold E. and Sybil “June” (Christopherson) Erickson. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1959. David had his own Plumbing, Heating and Electric Business and worked for the City of Cambridge for many years until retirement. David loved working in his pasture, hunting and fishing and had served many years on the Cambridge Fire Department. He will be remembered for his love of his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

David is survived by two daughters: Teresa (Ron) Baker of Ames, Lisa Erickson of Cambridge; six grandchildren: Lindsey (Mike) Mitchell, Melissa (Dale) Higgins, Joseph Crawford, Emily (Dustin) Helland, Elizabeth (Tyler) Jacobson, Eric Longnecker; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Donald (Kathy) Erickson of Nevada, and Dennis Erickson of Cambridge.

David was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Harold John Erickson.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 6 at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7, at the United Methodist Church in Cambridge. Burial will follow at the Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge.

Memorial contributions may be made to the David Erickson Memorial Fund.
