William Fritz, age 83, of Zearing, IA, died on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Zearing Health Care Center.
William Frederick Fritz was born May 23, 1931 at Geneva, Iowa. Bill was one of eight children born to Frederick William and Gertrude Edith (Deters) Fritz.
On November 7, 1964, Bill was united in marriage to Vonda Lou Elwick. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. Bill worked 20 years as a detailer at Gookin Ford in Story City. Over his working years, he also was a heavy machine operator and mechanic. After Bill retired, he was a culinary cook at ISU, which he truly enjoyed.
Bill enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and spending time with family. He loved to joke around and like to make people laugh.
He passed away August 2, 2014 at the Zearing Health Care Center in Zearing, Iowa.
He will sorely be missed by his wife Vonda Lou of Zearing, Iowa; children daughter Peggy Fritz of Zearing, IA; son Jeff (Mindy) Fritz of Colo, Iowa; granddaughters Shelbey and Jacey; sisters Gloria (Fritz) Turner of Windsor, Missouri, Mary (Fritz) Elwick of Radcliffe, Iowa and Linda Fritz of Windsor, Missouri; brother Lawrence Fritz of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Kim Fritz of Story City, Iowa; along with many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rosie (Fritz) Weber and his brother Merrill Fritz.
