ANNA LOIS GROOMES

Anna Lois Groomes, 86, of Nevada IA, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1987, at Story County Hospital.

She was born Aug. 14, 1900, to Charles J. Baker and Della Butteoff.

Mrs. Groomes worked for Iowa State University until she retired in 1960.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada, with Rev. Paul H. Beckman of Story City IA officiating. Interment was in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd, of Nevada; a daughter, Lola Plotkin of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Helen Norman of Las Vegas NV; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lois Groomes, in September 1986, and one brother.

Visitation was held at the funeral home Sunday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
