Claude (Ray) Harrelson

Ray Harrelson, 75, of rural Nevada died Monday afternoon at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, following a lingering illness.

A Collinsville, Missouri native, Harrelson was former Iowa State University employee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy Cody, sons Raymond Dennis of Cambridge and Randy Dean of Nevada, daughters Claudia Conrad, Ruth Tolley and Karla Denise Harrelson of Nevada, his sisters Mary Noble of Peoria, Ill. and 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home Thursday at 1:30 p.m., with the burial in the Nevada Cemetery. Rev. Eugene A. Vacek will officiate.
