ELMER JOHN KESSELL

Elmer John Kessell, 91, of Nevada, died Saturday, July 6, 1985, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines IA.

He was born March 26, 1894, at Liberty, Ill., to John F. and Ida (Eisenberg) Kessell.

He attended school at Maywood, Mo.

He lived at Marathon, Ia., and from there moved to Ames where he was a barber. In 1960, he retired and moved to Nevada.

Mr. Kessell was a member of Nevada Baptist Church.

He served in the armed forces in World War I.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 9, at 2 p.m. at Nevada Baptist Church with Pastor Robert King officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

Ryan Funeral Home of 5th St. and Lincoln Highway, Nevada, Ia. in charge in arrangements.

Mr. Kessell's survivors include his wife, Xernia, of Nevada, and a brother, Earl, of Iowa Falls, Ia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Fred, Roy, Ray, Olen and Otto, and one infant sister.
