RAYMOND H. McDANIEL

Raymond H. McDaniel, 68, a lifelong resident of Nevada, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 1984, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the United Methodist Church in Nevada. The Rev. Ernest Larson will officiate. Burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.

McDaniel was born on Dec. 30, 1915 to James A. and Sarah Jeanette (Fisher) McDaniel in Nevada. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1933.

He married Ruth Wilson on Oct. 12, 1967 in Nogales Sonora, Mexico. He was engaged in insurance and real estate, and had been involved in various other businesses over the years.

McDaniel was a member of the United Methodist Church, a charter member of and past president of the Nevada Lions Club, a member of the American Legion and a past member of the Nevada School Board. He served in the armed forces during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; one son, Stuart of Nevada; two daughters, Karen Theodosopoulos of Brookings, S.D., and Tammy, at home; one brother, Kenneth of Nevada; to sisters, Mae Dodds of Knoxville and Betty Clark of Whittier, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Barry; two brothers, Donald and Lester; and three sisters, Ellen Raulerson, Zella Reitz and Florence Rapp.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the Ryan Funeral Home.
